Build 3D characters for adding animations and interactions in immersive experiences (virtual reality) in various contexts.


Brainstorming

Brainstorming is done to analyze the context and elements needed for identifying and developing the supporting character. It was done by creating diagram, research from references, or user research.


Sketch or Design

The sketch or design was developed based on character specifications and environment envisioned, then created storyboard for animation in the later stage.


And was added face animation brainstorming, but it was not successful when added to the immersive experience tool.


Low Poly 3D

Building of the 3D character was done in a low poly type. The development was done in batches for each parts then joined in the end.

Key takeaways

Those was my beginning experiences in 3D modelling. It was fun even though the animation rigging process was hard, due to the mesh of 3D was not perfect and I am still not an expert in it. In the end, the optimal character is the one that fits with the needs and requirements. The next step for me is to explore more 3D techniques and optimizing the mesh building into a neater and easier fit for animation and rigging.
